The Perennis Team
We are a team of enthusiastic horticulturalists / gardeners who have got experience in a range of skills and specialisms within horticulture. We have been gardening for many years either as amateurs or as professionals. The team is not exhaustive and we can bring in additional support depending on the amount of work that needs carrying out. We can also provide you with contacts for lawn care and hard landscape construction work.
We all love what we do and can’t think of a better way to spend our time than helping people to improve their gardens!
Michele Hunter
Michele has achieved an RHS Level 2 Diploma in the Principles and Practices of Horticulture and studied at Moreton Morrell and Pershore. She has many areas of interest within horticulture that include propagation; trees (both fruit and ornamental), shrubs and herbaceous plants; creating ideas for planting schemes and general plant care. She particularly enjoys working with clients to help them develop their garden to suit their needs and requirements. She can provide clients with background information on plants that will create balance and harmony in their garden and, in turn, provide the perfect environment for insects and birds to thrive in. In addition, her background education of a degree in art and design can be useful in this area as it provides her with an insight into how colour, texture and design can be incorporated into a garden setting.
Your needs, as the client, are important to her and she will make sure that you are involved every step of the way in order to achieve the right results for you. With permission, Michele will photograph the different stages of work carried out by Perennis to show the development to your garden. Examples of her photography are used on this website.
Pete Watts
Pete trained at Pershore College of Horticulture gaining a qualification of an Ordinary National Diploma. This was a four-year full time course involving two years onsite work experience, one of which was at the college itself where he worked in all the different areas. He then went on to to work in, and eventually become a manager at, the family Garden Centre business (Clows) where he built up the business over several years. He is an experienced garden consultant, in particular, offering a knowledgeable pruning service.
Whether you have a small or large garden, he will help you decide how to get the best from your plants and how to deal with troublesome pest and diseases causing least harm to natural predators. He also has an in depth knowledge of growing a range of vegetables and can pass on his experience in this field too.
